My lovely Banana Chocolate Cake that didn't quite make it.

We bought some bananas on Monday but it had somehow turned very mushy ... maybe it got squashed in the grocery bag during the car ride. So I was stuck with 6 ripe and soft bananas to get rid off ... I couldn't make goreng pisang out of it and the only cake I can think of at that moment was Banana cake.

I have my own banana chocolate cake recipe but I thought 'why not try out a different version.' So I changed the recipe a bit - using self-raising flour instead of plain flour and 2 eggs instead of 1 etc ... well, it was a flop. The cake didn't rise and it was moist and dense. I was quite disappointed how it turned out. Anyway, here's a picture of it.

Banana Choc Cake flop

I'll make it again another time.

Your Banana Cake doesn't look bad, how did it taste? Did you add Chocolate chips in it? Your butter chicken looks and sounds yummy. My daughter Chloe LOVES Butter Chicken!:-D

@Carol Rodé : Thanks for dropping by. Actually the cake still tastes great - full of banana flavour with chunks of dark chocolates (it's Pierre who gave me that idea).:-)

Hehe - it's not a failure. It's a new creation! it's the "bananie" (as in brownie but with bananas instead!)! Moist and dense - everything a good bananie should be;-)

I thought it looks ok too. Can put into muffin cups and make banana dark chocolate muffin --moist and dense...sound like some muffins I've had before.:)

@Jackson Kah: Thanks for dropping by. U're welcome to be my guinea pig any time.

@wokandspoon: Thanks:-) What a great idea. I'll have to experiment with it and see how it turns out. Will post it if it is successful.

@tigerfish: Haven't actually tried making banana muffin yet:-)

@tyree white: Thanks for dropping by.:-)

I usually like my banana cakes dense, so yours looks fine to me. How did it taste?
